Released last week in Gujarat (at Surat) to dull response, G. Cinemas’ Dumdaar (dubbed from Kannada film Rudra Tandava) is a poor fare.
Sureenthiran’s story is routine while Guru Deshpande’s screenplay offers precious little by way of entertainment.
Performances are okay. ChiranÂjeevi Sarja, Radhika Kumaraswamy, Krishna, Girish Karnad, P. Ravi ShanÂkar and Vasishta N. Simha have delivered fair performances, at best.
Guru Deshpande’s direction is weak. Music (V. Harikrishna and D. Imman) is functional. Jagdish Vali’s camerawork is fair. K.M. Prakash’s editing is average. Dubbing is ordinaÂry.
On the whole, Dumdaar is a dull show devoid of box-office dum and hence, it will go largely unnoticed.
