Jacqueline Fernandez was on September 14 questioned for nearly eight hours by the Delhi police’s Economic Offences Wing in connection with the Rs. 200 crore extortion case involving conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar. She was accompanied by Pinky Irani, Chandrasekhar’s aide who had introduced Jacqueline to him.
The actress told the police that Sukesh had introduced himself as the owner of Sun TV and nephew of Jayalalithaa. It was only later, she said, that she got to know that he had made an office in Tihar jail and used to talk to her on video calls from a corner of his cell. She added that she was a victim of Chandrasekhar’s con.
