Wall Poster Cinema’s HIT: The 2nd Case (dubbed from the Telugu film of the same name; A) is a murder mystery. Krishna Dev alias KD (Adivi Sesh) is superintendent of police in the Homicidal Intervention Team (HIT) of Andhra Pradesh, in Visakhapatnam. He is in a live-in relationship with Aarya (Meenakshi Chaudhary). KD is investigating the brutal murder of Sanjana, and he is assisted by Abhilash (Maganti Srinath) and Varsha (Komalee Prasad). How he solves the murder case is what the film is all about.
Sailesh Kolanu has penned a fairly interesting story and screenplay. But it’s also a fact that there are too many characters and since most of the actors playing them are new faces for the Hindi film-going audience, the drama tends to become confusing, at times. Dialogues are alright.
Adivi Sesh is pretty earnest and sincere as KD. Meenakshi Chaudhary does well as Aarya. Suhas is effective as Kumar. Komalee Prasad makes her mark as Varsha. Maganti Srinath has his moments as Abhilash. Rao Ramesh (as DGP Nageswara Rao), Tanikella Bharani (as Sanjana’s father), Harsha Vardhan (as Ram Prasad Koduri), Kedar Shankar (as KD’s father), Brahmaji (as Shinde), Jaya Naidu (as KD’s mother), Posani Krishna Murali (as the news reporter), Gujjuru Hemanth (as the police constable), Kancharapalem Raju (as Raghavudu’s father), Dhaasshyam Geetha Bhascker (as Aarya’s mother), Nani (in a cameo appearance as Arjun Sarkaar), Srikanth Iyengar and the rest lend the desired support.
Sailesh Kolanu’s direction is nice. John Stewart Eduri’s background music is quite effective. S. Manikandan’s cinematography is appealing. Garry BH’s editing is reasonably sharp. Dubbing is okay.
On the whole, HIT: The 2nd Case is a well-made film but its chances in Hindi are bleak because of almost complete absence of awareness about the film due to lack of promotion, and also because of unknown faces of actors playing many of the important characters.
Released on 30-12-’22 at Maratha Mandir (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru Grand Master and B4U. Publicity & opening: weak. …….Also released all over. Opening was dull everywhere.
