Released this week at Pen, Alibaug and other stations of Maharashtra, Seven Wing Films and Sanmegh Production’s Jugadya (Marathi; UA) is a romantic film with action thrown in in fair measure. A young man goes wayward for the lure of money, affecting his family life.
Sandesh Palkar’s story is oft-repeated. The screenplay, penned by Narendra Thakur and Sunil Dhumal, moves on the usual and predictable path. There isn’t really much which one hasn’t seen in many earlier films. Sandesh Palkar’s dialogues are alright.
Chaitanya Sardeshpande does a fair job. Juilee Remkar is alright. Raju Kher does an average job. His dialogues are in Hindi. Sandesh Palkar is natural. Jayaraj Nair is adequate. Sudesh Mhashilkar lends fair support. Pranav Raorane makes his presence felt. Mayur Pawar is okay. Pradeep Walke, Mukesh Patil, Rajendra Jadhav, Sushma Chavan, Vaishali Jadhav, Karishma Saini, Surendra Hadkar, Kishore Patil, Prajakta Dhumal, Satyan Pawar, Vilas Tawri, Dev Gharat, Bharat Shankar Jadhav, Megh Palkar, Rudra Waghmare and the others pass muster.
Narendra Thakur’s direction is ordinary. Vikrant Warde’s music is average. The Hindi song is nice. His background music is reasonably good. Lyrics (Deepak Angewar and Mahesh Naykude) are okay. Song picturisations (by Bharat Shankar Jadhav and Mayuresh Patil) are not too original. Swapnil Manwal’s cinematography is nothing to shout about. Art direction (by Ganesh Mhatre and Satyan Pawar) is alright. Subodh Narkar’s editing is quite sharp.
On the whole, Jugadya is too ordinary to make a mark at the box-office.
