Television actress Vaibhavi Upadhyaya died in a road accident on 22nd May near Chandigarh. She was 39 and became very popular as Jasmine of TV serial Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai. Her last rites were performed today (24th) in Bombay at the Babhai Hindu Smashan Bhoomi, Babhai Naka, Borivli West.
Vaibhavi was travelling in a car with her fiancé, when the vehicle went out of control at a sharp turn. Reportedly, the car fell into a valley. Her mortal remains will be brought to Bombay tomorrow (25th) for the last rites which will be performed in the afternoon.
J.D. Majethia, who directed Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai, described Vaibhavi as a “terrific actress who didn’t get her due in the industry”.
