‘MERRY CHRISTMAS’ NO CAUSE FOR MERRIMENT, ‘HANUMAN’ CAUSE FOR JOY

Merry Christmas fared quite poorly in 1st week. Collections for the Tamil version were even worse. The Hindi version netted Rs. 2.30 crore on the first day. Collections increased to Rs. 3.40 crore on Saturday, and to Rs. 3.75 crore on Sunday. Therefore, the total for the first weekend was Rs. 9.45 crore. Collections for the weekdays were: Monday – Rs. 1.50 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 1.05 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 0.95 crore, Thursday – Rs. 0.85 crore. Hence the total for the weekdays was Rs. 4.35 crore. In this way, the total for the first week was Rs. 13.80 crore.

HanuMan (dubbed) started slow but picked up markedly on Saturday and even more on Sunday, after which it remained steady at fair collections during the weekdays. The original Telugu version also did quite well. The Hindi dubbed version started with a take of Rs. 2.15 crore on Friday. Collections jumped to Rs. 4.05 crore on Saturday, and further to Rs. 6.29 crore on Sunday. In this way, the total for the first weekend was Rs. 12.49 crore. Collections for the weekdays were as follows: Monday – Rs. 3.80 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 2.60 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 2.25 crore, Thursday – Rs. 1.90 crore. With the total for the weekdays being Rs. 10.55 crore, the first week closed at Rs. 23.04 crore.

Captain Miller (dubbed) fared poorly in 1st week all over.

Dunki netted Rs. 2.50 crore in the fourth weekend, and another Rs. 1.20 crore during the weekdays, taking the total for 4th week to Rs. 3.70 crore. Grand total for 4 weeks: Rs. 215.96 crore.

Salaar (dubbed) collected Rs. 2.10 crore in the fourth week, taking its 4-week total to Rs. 163.60 crore.

Animal netted Rs. 1.50 crore in its seventh week (Hindi version Rs. 1.40 crore, dubbed versions Rs. 0.10 crore). Grand total for 7 weeks: Rs. 555.91 crore (Hindi version Rs. 494.87 crore, dubbed versions Rs. 61.04 crore).

Khurchi (Marathi) bombed miserably in 1st week all over Maharashtra.
