The Hyderabad city crime branch registered a case against actor Siddharth for his allegedly derogatory tweet on ace shuttler Saina Nehwal. Social activist Prerna had lodged a complaint with the crime branch of Hyderabad police, alleging that Siddharth’s comment against the badminton player was misogynistic and offensive. A case was registered based on the complaint.
Saina had, in a tweet on January 5, expressed concern over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s security breach during his recent visit to Punjab. In response to her tweet, Siddharth had tweeted, “Subtle cock champion of the world… Thank God, we have protectors of India. Shame on you.” Earlier, the National Commission for Women had raised a hue and cry over Siddharth’s tweet, terming it lewd and misogynistic.
