Ameesha Patel on July 10 appeared before judicial magistrate D.N. Shukla in the Ranchi district court and pleaded not guilty in a Rs. 3 crore cheque bouncing case. She had issued two cheques totally for Rs. 3 crore to a Ranchi financier, Ajay Kumar Singh, in August 2018, but both were dishonoured. Singh moved court against the actress in 2018.
During the hearing under section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, Ameesha agreed to the court’s suggestion for mediation.
