As was expected, the state governments have started removing all the restrictions imposed on cinemas in view of the Coronavirus pandemic. After the Karnataka government discontinued all the limitations from February 5, under which cinemas in that state were functioning, the next state government to do away with the restrictions is that of Uttar Pradesh. Cinemas in that state have now been permitted to function at full capacity instead of the 50% occupancy. This is also the case in Tamil Nadu. The new guidelines of the TN government stipulate that cinemas in the state can now operate at 100% capacity.
Other state governments are expected to follow suit.
