The Central Railway has earned over Rs. 2.32 crore in 2022 by letting out its various premises and rail coaches for shootings. This is the highest the CR has earned in any calendar year so far. The amount is double of what CR earned in 2021.
A total of eight feature films, three web series, a documentary film, a short film and an advertisement film were shot in all during the year that’s coming to an end. Of the Rs. 2.32 crore, more than 55% (Rs. 1.27 crore) came from feature films shot with the ‘Shooting Special Train’ at Yeola and Kanhegaon stations in Solapur district over a period of more than 18 days.
