Well-known film financier and erstwhile Bombay exhibitor Raju Shah passed away last night (22nd January) due to heart attack in Gulmarg. He was 63. News of his sudden demise has sent shock waves in the film trade.
Raju (real name Tejpal) Shah and his wife had gone to Gulmarg on a holiday with Jayantilal Gada, Pravin Shah, one more family friend and their wives. He suffered a massive attack at 11.05 p.m. yesterday and succumbed to the same. He is survived by his wife, son Yash (who was helping his father in business) and two daughters.
Raju Shah owned Sona cinema, Borivli (Bombay), which has been given on lease to Gold chain of multiplexes. His other cinema, Sona, Kandivli (Bombay) was later sold to the Kanakias. He operated under the brand names of T.A. Shah group of companies and Y.T. Entertainment.
