Two days after a controversy erupted over VIP treatment to Kannada film actor Darshan in Bangalore Central Prison, where he is serving time in connection with a murder case, the actor will be shifted out and taken to Ballari district jail following the Bangalore additional chief metropolitan magistrate court’s permission. Nine of his co-accused friends will be transferred to six different prisons.
The 10 accused are in jail for the murder of S. Renukaswamy, a fan of Darshan, who had sent lewd messages to his actress-girlfriend, Pavithra Gowda. The actor and 16 of his associates were arrested in the case in June. Four of the accused are in Tumakuru jail. Only three accused, including Pavithra, will now remain in the Bangalore jail.
The Bangalore jail authorities on 27th moved the court seeking permission to shift the undertrials out of the prison to elsewhere due to administrative and security reasons. The move came when a photograph of Darshan and his friends chilling out with rowdy elements inside the jail premises went viral.
