Urmila Matondkar, who started her political career with Congress last year by contesting the Lok Sabha election from the Bombay North constituency, will join the Shiv Sena tomorrow (1st December) in the presence of party chief and Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray. This announcement was made by Shiv Sena yesterday (29th November). Her name is among the 12 persons recommended by the Maha Vikas Aghadi government to the governor for nomination to the Legislative Council. Urmila’s name was recommended by Shiv Sena which is a constituent of the MVA.
Urmila had lost the election in 2019, soon after which she quit the Congress, citing petty politics as the reason.
