The Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari (Film City) in Bombay has sought the recently cleared 14-acre land parcel along the Ghatkopar-Mankhurd Link Road in the city to set up a sub-centre offering outdoor locations for film and other shootings. Film City administrative director Swati Mhase-Patil said that the existing 521-acre Film City had become inadequate to meet the growing demand for film shooting spaces. She added that the BMC’s Goregaon-Mulund Link Road project had rendered certain areas unusable for shootings. The construction of the underground tunnel through Film City has completely halted shooting at 11 outdoor locations.
Mumbai Suburban Collector Saurabh Katiyar said, Film City’s proposal seeking the 14-acre plot had been forwarded to the state government for approval.
