The ministry of I & B has clarified that the winners of the 66th National Film Awards will be declared after the 2019 general elections. The winners, decided by an independent jury, are declared in April every year but that’s been pushed back this year in view of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections and elections to the legislative assemblies of four states. Besides, the National Awards also include one for the most film-friendly state. The Awards ceremony will be held on a date to be announced. The ceremony is usually held on 3rd May but this year, it will be held later.
