Shakti Rana, the 62-year-old caretaker of Salman Khan’s bungalow at Gorai beach in Bombay since 15 years, who was recently taken into custody in a 29-year-old burglary case, filed a bail application in the sessions court on 11th October. He had been sent to judicial custody for 14 days on 10th October. He cited poor health as the reason for seeking bail. Rana and his two accomplices are accused of robbing Rs. 30 lakh worth valuables from a home at Worli in Bombay in 1990. All the three had managed to escape after the crime but were later apprehended. Rana was out on bail after his arrest and attended court proceedings till 1996. He then went missing as he was informed that the case had gone cold. He was tracked only recently.
