SIX INDIANS INVITED TO BE ACADEMY MEMBERS | 6 July, 2019

Six film people from India have been invited to become members, by the Academy Of Motion Picture Arts And Scien­ces in its latest push to become more inclusive. A total of 842 new members have been invited from all over the world.

Zoya Akhtar has been asked to join in the directors’ branch while Anurag Kash­yap, in the short films and feature animation branch. Anupam Kher’s invitation is for the actors’ branch. The Lunchbox writer Ritesh Batra has been invited in the writers’ branch. Sherry Bharda (Hichki) and Srinivas Mohan (2.0 and Bahubali: The Beginning) have been called in the visual effects branch.
