URMILA MATONDKAR CRIES BETRAYAL, QUITS CONGRESS | 13 September, 2019

Urmila Matondkar, who contested the 2019 general elections from Bombay North on a Congress ticket and lost, resigned from the party on 10th September. She said, she was leaving the party due to petty politics and also because she felt betrayed as a letter written by her and containing privileged and confidential information was conveniently leaked to the media. She rued the fact that some of the persons specifically named by her in her letter for the shoddy performance were rewarded with newer positions.

Congress leaders Kripashankar Singh and Harshwardhan Patil also resigned the same day but their reasons were different.
