Well-known filmmaker and cinematographer Sangeeth Sivan breathed his last today (8th May) in Bombay. Although he was undergoing treatment since some time at a private hospital where he took his last breath, the exact cause of his death is not known. He was the eldest son of filmmaker Sivan. He was the elder brother of celebrated cinematographer and filmmaker Santosh Sivan and producer-director Sanjeev Sivan. Sangeeth was around 65 years old.
Sangeeth had directed Zor, starring Sunny Deol. He also directed Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 (with Dharmendra, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol), Sandhya (Jackie Shroff and Raveena Tandon), Kyaa Kool Hai Hum (Tusshar Kapoor and Aftab Shivdasani), Apna Sapna Money Money (Jackie Shroff, Sunil Shetty, Shreyas Talpade), Ek – The Power Of One (Bobby Deol, Nana Patekar), Click (Shreyas Talpade) and Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne (Zayed Khan and Esha Deol). He had also co-directed web series Bhram with Amit Bathija. He had also made some Malayalam films Yoddha, Gandharvam and Nirnayam, all three with Mohanlal. He debuted as director with Malayalam film Vyooham. Among his other Malayalam films are Daddy, Johnny and Snehapoorvam Anna. He had produced Malayalam films Idiots and E.
