Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal recently planted trees to celebrate the birth of their first child, a baby girl. The selfless part of their wonderful initiative is that more than 150 tree saplings were planted by the couple in the names of their media friends.
All the tree saplings were planted in the adopted villages by Rajshri Deshpande in Marathwada under the auspices of the Nabhangan Foundation. Besides helping the environment and atmosphere, these trees will aid in adding to the income of the needy in the villages concerned as the trees need to be identified for posterity by putting weather-proof placards with the names of the persons in whose names they have been planted, and safeguarded with iron fencing made by humans. Why, the planting itself is paid for.
