Shakuntala Creations, SR Films and Jijau Creations’ Naad (Marathi; UA) is a love story. Uday (Kiran Gaikwad) and Shubhra (Sapna Mane) love each other, but Ajinkya (Yashraj Vilasrao Dimble) plays the proverbial spoke in the wheel of their love.
Santosh Dabholkar and Deepak Pawar have written a routine story about love, romance, good versus evil etc. Prof. Dr. Vinayak Pawar’s screenplay is ordinary and beats the treaden path. There is not even a hint of newness or freshness in the drama. Prof. Dr. Vinayak Pawar’s dialogues are fairly nice.
Kiran Gaikwad is alright as Uday. Sapna Mane is ordinary as Shubhra. Yashraj Vilasrao Dimble impresses as Ajinkya. Jaywant Wadkar makes his presence felt. Dr. Vinayak Pawar is okay. Vijay Patkar lends fair support. Tanaji Galgunde is so-so. Others fit the bill.
Prakash Janardan Pawar’s direction is routine. Pankaj Padghan’s music is nothing to dance about. Lyrics (Vaibhav Deshmukh and Dr. Vinayak Pawar) are functional. Siddhesh Dalvi’s choreography hardly deserves mention. Abhinay Jagtap’s background music is quite nice. Amit Singh’s camerawork is proper. Action and stunt scenes afford some thrill. Satish Chipkar’s art direction is alright. Vinod Raje’s editing should’ve been sharper.
On the whole, Naad will find the going at the box-office tough.
