Figures And Frames LLP and Indie Productions’ Well Done CA Sahab! (UA) is the story of three Chartered Accountants who were mentored by a senior CA.
Three CA aspirants — Vidyasagar Shastri (Gaurav Paswala), Siddharth Shah (Sayandeep Sengupta) and Mithila (Jyoti Kapoor) — did very well under the guidance and mentorship of CA Bhaskar Sharma (Gopal Datt). For, not only did Bhaskar teach them accountancy but also life lessons through theatre. Years pass by. The three are now Chartered Accountants, lost in their own struggles. One day, they embark on a journey to find their teacher and mentor who once so beautifully shaped their path but suddenly disappeared mysteriously.
The film, about CAs, is made by CAs. Aaditya Trivedi’s story and screenplay are quite simplistic, which doesn’t work well for a film. The usual masala, which viewers look for in a Hindi film, is conspicuous by its absence. Yes, the drama might hold some appeal for CA professionals because it is about that profession and those professionals. Aaditya Trivedi’s dialogues are dull.
Gopal Datt acts well as CA Bhaskar Sharma. Gaurav Paswala is so-so as Vidyasagar Shastri. Jyoti Kapoor is average in the role of Mithila. Sayandeep Sengupta is passable as Siddharth Shah. Nishma Soni lends average support as Kirti. Rama Krishna Dixit (as Sreekanth), Archan Trivedi (as Gopaldas Shastri), Makrand Shukla (as CA Ajit Shah), Hem (as Chyawanprash), Samar Jajoriya and Sam Jajoriya (as twins), Kartik Kapadiya, Soniya Valera, Anuj Purani, Dev Shah, Manthan Vaja, Kevin Rushi, Riddham Panchal, Kathan Naik, Nirav Thakkar, Rahul Patel, Kanksha Vasavda, Birva Bhatt, Pooja Raval, Neet Davda, Kabir Thakore, Dhruv Shah, Satyendra Parmar, Dipak Sananse, Rajnish Rana, Iqbal Patel, Himanshu Pathak, Devam Darji, Chiara, Yash Varan, Gaurang Raval, Shakti Gaikwad, Deval Vyas, Hari Bhrambhatt, Prakruti Shah, Jignesh Trivedi, Pratham Sharma, Jaymin Solanki, Mohil Devani, Bhavishya, Krutik Dave, Jyoti Davda, Dhanya, Sahil Agrawal, Priya Barot, Karan Vaghela, Sunil Siddhpura, Jay Shukla, Prince Limbadia, Forum Shah, Aashish Prajapati, Yaashi Joshi, Ummehani Kadri, Siddharth Brahmbhatt, Heet Trivedi, Krishna Vora, Devang Soni, Jaydevsinh Vaghela, Radhika Buddhbhatti, Gautam, Rajesh, Jainil, Pratham, Yagna, Tirth Darji, and the rest pass muster.
Sarvesh Kumar Singh’s direction is immature. His editing ought to have been sharper. Mukt’s music and Raaj Kothari’s lyrics are functional. Aarchit Bhaskar’s choreography is below the mark. Samiran Das’ background music is alright. Sanchit Balhara’s original theme composition is nice. Sree Coomar Nair’s camerawork is of a fine standard. Ajay Balavant Padariya’s art direction is okay.
On the whole, Well Done CA Sahab! will find the going tough.
