Zee Studios, Maruti International and Waveband Productions’ Mastiii 4 (A) is the fourth film in the Masti franchise. Amar (Ritesh Deshmukh), Prem (Aftab Shivdasani) and Meet (Vivek Oberoi) are friends. They are married to Bindiya (Elnaaz Norouzi), Geeta (Ruhi Singh) and Aanchal (Shreya Sharma) respectively. They seek permission to flirt and have sex with other girls for a week. Their wives agree reluctantly, following which the three friends go on a picnic. To their misfortune, they are unsuccessful in their quest to have sex outside of marriage. On their return home, their wives seek the same concession — a week without the husbands and with permission to sleep with other men. Pablo Putinwa (Tusshar Kapoor), Virat (Shaad Randhawa) and Sid Walia (Nishant Singh Malkani) woo Bindiya, Geeta and Aanchal respectively. However, the three friends do all under their control to prevent their wives from getting cosy with the three men. Do they succeed?
Farrukh Dhondy and Milap Milan Zaveri have written a story which is not just naughty but often vulgar and obscene too. The story is actually more an assemblage of anecdotes than a seamless and free-flowing one. The duo’s screenplay is replete with vulgar scenes. While some comic scenes and sequences evoke a lot of laughter, there are others which fail to have the desired effect. Subtlety seems to be the last thought on the minds of the writers, because of which the drama becomes too in-your-face. While the class audience may be fond of adult humour which teases, this kind of brazen and vulgar comedy may not find favour with them. A section of the masses, of course, will lap up the obscene scenes. A minus point even for the masses is that the drama moves in a very predictable fashion. The pre-interval portion is not very exciting even for the mass audience. The drama in the second half is slightly better as there are a couple of hilarious sequences after interval. Climax is so-so. The dialogues, penned by Milap Milan Zaveri and Abhinav Vaidya, are good at places but overtly vulgar at others.
Ritesh Deshmukh acts with aplomb as Amar. Aftab Shivdasani is good as Prem. Vivek Oberoi does a fair job as Meet. It must be mentioned here that all the three heroes haven’t looked very good. Elnaaz Norouzi is fairly nice as Bindiya. Ruhi Singh is quite impressive in the role of Geeta. Shreya Sharma does quite well as Aanchal. Tusshar Kapoor is excellent as Pablo Putinwa. In fact, he is the best from among the entire cast. Shaad Randhawa has his moments as Virat. Nishant Singh Malkani does a fine job as Sid Walia. His dialogues in chaste Hindi are enjoyable. Arshad Warsi leaves a good impression in a special appearance as Kamraj. Nargis Fakhri lends fairly decent support in a special appearance as Menka. Sanand Verma evokes laughter in a tiny role. Genelia Deshmukh adds star value in a guest appearance. Twinkle Tshering (as the Thai massage parlour girl), Natalia Janoszek (as Rosie), Tara Sumner (as Rosemary), Andre Decruze (as the effeminate guy) and the rest lend average support.
Milap Milan Zaveri’s direction caters to the masses only. But he has made the film so loud and vulgar that the ladies and families will mostly keep away from the cinemas. Music (Meet Bros. and Sanjeev-Darshan) is quite alright but there’s not a single song which is noteworthy. The absence of hit songs is sorely felt. Lyrics (Mellow D, Meet Bros., Danish Sabri and Sanjeev Chaturvedi) are so-so. Aadil Shaikh’s song picturisations are routine. Vishal Shelke’s background music ought to have been better. Sanket Shah’s cinematography is quite nice. Amin Khatib’s action and stunt scenes are alright. Production designing (by Tajamul Ismail Shaikh and Anshita Manot) is proper. Sanjay Sankla’s editing should’ve been sharper.
On the whole, Mastiii 4 is not as entertaining as expected. It is too vulgar and not at all subtle. Therefore, it will appeal to a section of the masses, but the family audience, women and classes will find the experience quite unpalatable. Losing.
Released on 21-11-’25 at Inox (daily 4 shows) and other cinemas of Bombay by Zee Studios. Publicity: quite good. Opening: dull. …….Also released all over. Opening was below the mark everywhere.
