The Madras high court on February 6 dismissed actor-politician Vijay’s plea against a Rs. 1.50 crore penalty imposed on him by the Income-Tax department for not disclosing his real income for the year 2015-16. The issue pertains to searches carried out by the department at Vijay’s residence on September 30, 2015.
The department claimed that undisclosed income of Rs. 15 crore was unearthed during the search.
