Released last week in Bombay, U.P., Eastern Circuit, C.P. Berar and Rajasthan, KSS Productions & Entertainment’s Zorr (A) is a story of zombies and friendship.
Two friends wake up in their office to find that the city is overrun by zombies following a mysterious outbreak. As they struggle to survive, unpleasantness creeps in because of hidden tensions, broken relationships and selfish choices cropping up. Their escape now actually becomes a deadly game. Will they win the game?
Sekhar Kanjilal and Gourab Dutta have written a story which is hardly interesting. Sekhar Kanjilal’s screenplay is neither engaging nor entertaining. The drama, therefore, becomes boring and dull. Sekhar Kanjilal’s dialogues are routine.
Rishab Chadha is dull in the role of Jitu. Akash Makhija is so-so as Guddu. Sonam Arora does an ordinary job as Durga. Joy Sengupta is fair as the boss. Prantika Das is passable as Saraswati. Kavya Kashyap is okay as Needhi. Ricky Tewary passes muster as Rohan. Vijai Singh is average as Vikrant. Sekhar Kanjilal and the others lend weak support.
Gourab Dutta’s direction is below the mark. Soumya Rit Nag’s music and lyrics are nothing to shout about. Amit Chatterjee’s background music is not too impactful. Chayan Karmakar’s cinematography is functional. Joy Dutta’s art direction hardly deserves separate mention. Editing (by Gourab Dutta and Kan Singh Sodha) leaves a lot to be desired.
On the whole, Zorr has no strength to sustain at the box-office.
