NO ACTION AGAINST BADSHAH, L.O.C. WITHDRAWN: HARYANA POLICE TO HC | 20 March, 2026

The Haryana police informed the Punjab and Haryana high court on March 19 that the lookout circular (LOC) issued against rapper-singer Badshah had been withdrawn and that they would not take any action against him on the basis of the March 13 order passed by the Haryana State Commission for Women over his controversial song Tateeree.

After hearing the state’s reply, Justice Jagmohan Bansal disposed of the petition filed by Badshah, seeking directions to set aside the women’s commission notice/order to Panipat SP to register an FIR and arrest him in connection with a summons dated March 6. The FIR in the case was registered on March 6 at cyber crime police station Panchkula, under the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986 and the BNS.

Badshah’s counsel told the high court on March 19 that he was issued a summons on March 6 by the women’s commission in connection with a complaint on the song. His legal representative appeared before the commission and requested a reasonable time for appearance, citing his career as a singer. The state counsel, on instructions from the Panchkula cyber cell SHO, submitted in the high court that the LOC issued against rapper Badshah stood withdrawn.

The petitioner has already joined the probe in the matter at Panchkula. Badshah turned up at the cyber police station in sector 20 where he was questioned. He was granted bail.
