Dhurandhar: The Revenge rewrote box-office history in the first week with absolutely earth-shattering collections. The Eid and post-Eid holidays gave a boost to collections. Of course, the film itself was so loved by the audience that it seemed destined to become the biggest blockbuster ever in the history of Hindi cinema. It is all set to displace Dhurandhar as the highest-grossing film. After a historic start on Wednesday (March 18) in the paid preview shows, collections on Thursday (March 19) were beyond phenomenal. The Dhurandhar sequel has shattered every imaginable box-office record — that too, by leaps and bounds. After netting a record Rs. 50 crore on Wednesday (evening and night shows only), the film collected Rs. 90 crore on Thursday, which was a record-breaking figure for the first day. Collections on Friday were again a record-creating Rs. 81 crore. The film hit the ball out of the park on Saturday and Sunday with totals of Rs. 109 crore and Rs. 113 crore respectively. Needless to add, the weekend total of Rs. 443 crore was a record which may take years to break. Collections for the weekdays were also extraordinary: Monday – Rs. 59 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 53 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 45 crore, Thursday – Rs. 49 crore. In this way, the total for the weekdays was Rs. 206 crore. In this way, the first week closed at a historic Rs. 649 crore. The dubbed South language versions netted approximately Rs. 41 crore. Hence the combined total for India for the original Hindi as well as the South language dubbed versions was Rs. 690 crore. The success was as huge abroad too. In the UK, with gross collections of £2.461 million, it outdid in just 6 days the lifetime collections of such blockbusters in the UK as Chennai Express (£2.181 million), Padmaavat (£2.189 million), Dilwale (£2.350 million), Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (£2.374 million), PK (£2.386 million) and Animal (£2.405 million). For the 8-day week, the total gross for Overseas circuit is a whopping Rs. 275 crore!! This is the fastest film to touch Rs. 275 crore Overseas. In North America, it is on the cusp of becoming the highest-grossing Indian film ever with its $18 million-plus total so far. It has already become the fifth-highest grossing film in the UK with its first week’s total gross of £2.75 million in the first week. It has even surpassed the UK businesses of Dhoom 3, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, My Name Is Khan, Dangal and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham…. It has written box-office history in Germany (US$800,000) and Singapore (US$500,000) in the first week itself. In a tiny market like Finland, where Indian films usually gross €4,000 to 5,000, this film has grossed €36,000 in the first week!

Hoppers (animation; dubbed and the original English versions) netted Rs. 1.75 crore in the third week. Grand total for 3 weeks: Rs. 9 crore.
