The Mira Road (Thane district) police have cracked the murder case of a house help by arresting small-time TV serial actor Ashish Meshram from a railway station in Visakhapatnam. The 37-year-old house help, Suman Kamble, was stabbed on the neck, chest and stomach on the night of March 25 by the accused inside the third floor flat of Chandresh Accord building.
According to the police, the crime was premeditated. It is reported that the accused had demanded sexual favours from the deceased in the past, which were repeatedly turned down.
As per the FIR, Meshram had called up Suman’s second son in January and threatened to kill her if she did not continue working in his flat and if she turned down his sexual advances. When Suman Kamble told her family that she had stopped working at Meshram’s house as he had been seeking sexual favours, Kamble’s son thrashed him (Ashish Meshram) and warned him to keep his distance from his mother. Later, however, Suman’s older son assured Kamble that the mother would soon resume work at the house. Meshram entered the flat on March 25 night when Suman visited for work. He allegedly murdered her soon thereafter.
