THOUSANDS OFFER TRIBUTES AS ASHA BHOSLE’S LAST RITES PERFORMED WITH FULL STATE HONOURS | 14 April, 2026

The last  rites of singer Asha Bhosle were performed with full state honours at the Shivaji Park crematorium in Bombay on 13th April. Thousands of people lined the route from her Parel residence to catch a glimpse of the cortege. A number of people from the film industry paid their last respects to the singing sensation. Her body was kept in a white glass coffin at her residence before the funeral.

The mortal remains of Asha Bhosle were draped in the national flag, and the police band played sombre tunes in the background.

The Maharashtra government announced at her death that it would set up a music academy in her memory.

Asha Bhosle breathed her last on 12th April in Bombay.
