‘MIRZAPUR THE MOVIE’ SHINES, ‘HANUMAN ANSH’ CONTINUES TO RULE BOX-OFFICE

Mirzapur The Movie swept the box-office with an extraordinary start last week. The outstanding collections continued throughout the week, making the film turn out to be a super-hit. The first day started with a net collection of Rs. 27.85 crore. Because the reports were outstanding, collections on Saturday shot up to Rs. 32.50 crore, and further to Rs. 36.50 crore on Sunday. After a bumper weekend total of Rs. 96.85 crore, collections on the weekdays were as follows: Monday – Rs. 17.10 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 15.60 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 12.50 crore, Thursday – Rs. 10.50 crore. Since the total for the weekdays was a superb Rs. 55.70 crore, the first week closed at a phenomenal Rs. 152.55 crore. The Telugu dubbed version netted Rs. 1.22 crore in the first week.

Jeevan Ya Bheema Con? turned out to be a debacle in 1st week all over.

Mahaprabhu Jagannath (animation) bombed in the first week all over.

I’m Game (dubbed) proved to be a disaster in the first week.

Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups (dubbed) recorded pathetic collections in 2nd week all over. Its drop was one of the worst drops for a big-budget extravaganza. It added only Rs. 2.50 crore to its kitty in the second week. Grand total for 2 weeks: Rs. 138.50 crore.

Insidious: Out Of The Further (dubbed and the original English versions) added Rs. 1.18 crore to its kitty in the third week. Grand total for 3 weeks: Rs. 16.86 crore.

Hanuman Ansh is going from strength to strength. The fifth weekend began with a take of Rs. 9.30 crore on Friday in spite of the formidable opposition of the new release last week, Mirzapur The Movie. Collections on Saturday jumped to Rs. 15.30 crore, and further to Rs. 21 crore on Sunday!! After a historic fifth weekend of Rs. 45.60 crore (after a first week of just Rs. 0.89 crore), collections for the weekdays were: Monday – Rs. 9.50 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 10.10 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 9.50 crore, Thursday – Rs. 8.60 crore. Hence the total for the weekdays was an extraordinary Rs. 37.70 crore. In this way, the fifth week closed at Rs. 83.30 crore. Grand total for 5 weeks: Rs. 152.94 crore.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day (dubbed and the original English versions) joined the Rs. 500-crore club in its sixth week, making it the first Hollywood blockbuster to touch that figure in India so far! The film netted Rs. 1.98 crore in the sixth weekend, and another Rs. 0.73 crore during the weekdays. Therefore, the total for 6th week was Rs. 2.71 crore. Grand total for 6 weeks: Rs. 501.64 crore.

The Odyssey (dubbed and the original English versions) collected Rs. 1.69 crore in its eighth weekend, and an additional Rs. 0.76 crore during the weekdays, taking the total for 8th week to Rs. 2.45 crore. Grand total for 8 weeks: Rs. 188.89 crore.

Dwidha (Marathi) fared terribly in the first week in Maharashtra.
