The Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) held its first meeting in six years on August 29. The meeting saw members seeking details of those who have consistently headed its Revising Committees. The online Board meeting also discussed the implementation of the 2024 certification rules.
The meeting discussed the recent films which have sparked controversies, strategies for moving forward, and industry outreach programmes.
The gathering was the 149th meeting of the Board but the first in six years. It was also the first meeting after Shashi Shekhar Vempati took over from Prasoon Joshi as CBFC chairperson.
