Four days after actress Koena Mitra lodged a complaint with the Oshiwara police station in Bombay about imposters having started an Instagram and a YouTube account in her name, the Bombay police suspended both the accounts on 19th July. The actress said in her complaint that the accounts were sharing obscene pictures and videos. The Central Intelligence Unit (CIU) of the crime branch of police, which recently began a probe into the fake influencer racket on social media, took over Koena’s complaint. With the assistance of Google, the two accounts were suspended.
