Tulu and Kannada film actor Surendra Bantwal Bhandari was found dead in his house in Bantwal of Dakshina Kannada district on 21st October. The police had to break open the door of his residence when friends complained that he was not answering calls. The police suspect that he was murdered with a sharp object.
Surendra had been arrested in June 2018 for wielding a sword and threatening BJP workers and a Bajrang Dal activist. It is believed that his act was retaliatory because the Bajrang Dal activist had attacked one of his relatives.
