Hrithik Roshan’s ex-wife, Sussanne Khan, actor Zulfikar Syed and singer Guru Randhawa were among the 27 persons booked by the Bombay police late last night (December 21) for violating COVID norms and partying at the Dragonfly Pub at JW Marriott Hotel at Sahar in Bombay despite night curfew imposed in the state of Maharashtra for a fortnight from last night. The police raid was conducted well past midnight and was, therefore, technically conducted early this morning (December 22). While the ladies in the group were allowed to go home after they were served notice under section 49 of the Criminal Procedure Code, the males among the customers were arrested and later released on bail. Reportedly, Badshah was also present but he escaped in a waiting car. Seven employees of the pub were arrested for keeping the establishment open beyond the permissible time limit and for not following COVID norms such as maintaining social distancing and wearing masks.
An offence was registered under sections 188, 269 and 34 IPC and 51 of the National Disaster Management Act against all the 34 persons including the hotel staff. The police has clarified that this was not a party related to drugs.
