Tamil film actor Vijayakanth was admitted to MIOT Hospital in Madras this morning (19th May). He reportedly experienced difficulty in breathing and had to be rushed to hospital at 2 a.m. However, the DMDK political party, founded by Vijayakanth himself, rubbished the rumours about his health condition and clarified that he had been admitted for a routine health check-up.
Vijayakanth, who has kidney and liver ailments, had tested positive for coronavirus last year and had recovered. The actor has shunned the limelight due to health problems. He was last seen in 2010 Tamil film Virudhagiri which was also written and directed by him. He had made a cameo appearance in Sagaptham in 2015. His son, Shanmuga Pandian, had debuted in Sagaptham.
