Security was beefed up at Amitabh Bachchan’s bungalow at Juhu in Bombay and at three prominent railway stations in the city yesterday (6th August) after the Bombay police received an anonymous call that bombs had been planted at the four locations. Nothing suspicious was found during the search, and the call turned out to be a hoax. The call was received at 8.53 p.m. on 6th.
The government railway police, the Railway Protection Force and the bomb detection and disposal squad, dog squads and local police personnel swung into action and carried out searches at the mentioned venues but drew a blank. However, the Bombay crime branch’s Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU) detained two persons. They are being questioned in connection with the hoax phone call.
