The income-tax department conducted a survey on the premises of Sonu Sood in connection with alleged tax evasion. Besides his properties in Bombay, the I-T department also searched a few properties in Uttar Pradesh. The department claimed that the U.P. action was linked to transactions with a contractor and was not connected with the operation in Bombay.
Sonu was recently declared brand ambassador of the Desh Ke Mentors programme of Delhi’s AAP government, for guiding students in making career choices. He was also at the forefront in helping migrants reach their home towns by arranging transportation and food, during the Coronavirus pandemic lockdown.
