Noted cinematographer, more popular as a Steadicam operator of repute, Deep Pal breathed his last yesterday (7th October) in Secunderabad. He was 68. Besides being an expert at his work, Deep was an avid traveller who had covered almost half the world with his wife. He had shifted from Bombay to Secunderabad a couple of years back.
Ever-smiling, lively, courteous, thoroughly professional and focussed, Deep Pal was everyone’s favourite when it came to operating the Steadicam. His first film as a Steadicam operator was Telugu Shiva. He also operated the Steadicam for Roja,Bandit Queen and Dil Se... Among the other films for which he held the Steadicam were Border, Filhaal… and Hum Saath-Saath Hain. He was the cinematographer of Pehla Nasha.
Deep Pal was the son of film publicist Colin Pal and the grandson of film director Niranjan Pal.
