Inox on 26th April wrote to the Securities & Exchange Board of India (SEBI), complaining that the statements made by producer Ronnie Screwvala about the virtual print fee (VPF) in his complaint to the Competition Commission of India, were false and misleading. Earlier, PVR had complained similarly to SEBI.
It may be recalled that Screwvala had moved the CCI on 19th March against multiplexes for charging VPF in the case of Bollywood films and not Hollywood films.
Reacting to the Inox complaint, Ronnie Screwvala tweeted, “Amusing to see @InoxMovies sending a 9-page rambling letter to SEBI, complaining about Slander! For all their clear acts of discrimination towards Indian cinema and anti-consumer – and they cannot defend even one of the many serious points and allegations made by content creators.”
