A special Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) court on April 8 rejected actor Armaan Kohli’s bail plea. Kohli was arrested in August last year after 1.2 gm. of cocaine was allegedly recovered from his house.
The special court said, “… prima facie it transpires that the accused is well connected with the co-accused pertaining to such illicit trafficking of drugs.” The court added that Armaan’s statements along with those of two others clearly demonstrated their complicity in the crime. It further explained, “It is also observed that the claim that merely small quantity has been seized is of hardly any consequence as the material collected by the prosecution clearly demonstrates the complicity of the accused in the crime. Therefore, considering the involvement of the accused in the alleged offence along with the co-accused, this is not a fit case for grant of bail.”
