The Telugu film industry has decided to stop all shootings from 1st August. This decision was taken today (26th July) by the Active Telugu Film Producers Guild in Hyderabad.
The Telugu film industry has been hit by losses in recent times. The Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC) held a meeting yesterday (25th July) in which it discussed the high fees charged by film stars. It was felt that except for stars, nobody in the film industry was making money. The TFCC also discussed, off the record, how producers and distributors had gotten into the habit of inflating box-office collections of films to paint a rosy picture of the stars of those films in a bid to satisfy their egos. This, they felt, actually spurred on the stars to further hike their remunerations.
