Inder International’s Rashtra (Marathi; UA) is the story of politicians and their black money. A group of top politicians of India meet to discuss where to invest all their black money after demonetisation of high-currency notes. They decide to use topmost businessman Yash Mahajan (Ganesh Yadav). However, Yash Mahajan needs the assistance of Maharashtra state’s top landlord, Pratap Thakur (Vikram Gokhale). But does Pratap Thakur bite the bait? When things don’t click between Mahajan and Thakur, there’s chaos. Politics, casteism, religion, manipulation, love and hatred come to the fore.
Inderpal Singh has penned a story and screenplay, which entertain little. The writer has tried to put in everything in one drama. As a result, the impact is hotch-potch. The drama becomes predictable after a point of time. It gets boring too. Inderpal Singh’s dialogues are okay.
Vikram Gokhale acts very well as Pratap Thakur. Mohan Joshi is effective. Ganesh Yadav performs ably as Yash Mahajan. Milind Gunaji lends nice support. Sanjay Narvekar is okay. Deepak Shirke provides fair support. Rohini Hattangady is adequate. Reema is alright. Gavie Chahal lends fair support. Raju Shetty and Ramdas Athawale are so-so.
Inderpal Singh’s direction is dull. His background music is ordinary. His editing is loose. Music (by Inderpal Singh and Nikhil Kamath) is average. Lyrics (Inderpal Singh) pass muster.
On the whole, Rashtra is a weak fare with bleak box-office chances.
