Ranveer Singh, who recorded his statement before the Chembur (Bombay) police on August 29 in their probe into his recent posting of his nude pictures on social media, denied having uploaded any stark nude photo. He admitted to having uploaded a few pictures on social media but said, he hadn’t posted any picture which was stark naked. The photo shoot was done for a foreign magazine.
The police said, they were collecting evidence. The cops asked the actor details of the shooting contract, origin of the idea and who uploaded it on social media. Ranveer reportedly told the police that the photo shoot was not meant for India.
Singh arrived at the police station at 7.30 a.m. and was accompanied by his father and lawyer. He was there for around two hours.
An FIR was registered against the actor under sections 509, 292 and 294 of the IPC and section 67(A) of the Information Technology Act after the president of a Bombay-based NGO lodged a complaint that the actor had hurt the sentiments of women in general and insulted their modesty.
