Released this week in U.P., C.P.CI. Rajasthan and Nizam, Matador Production’s High Tide (UA) is the story of mistaken identity. A terrorist (Dadhi R. Pandey) kidnaps Ashwin (Imran Hasnee) who is a computer operator. It slowly turns out that the terrorist had mistaken Ashwin to be a collector because of the similar names. What happens to the computer operator?
Imran Hasnee’s story is so idiotic that it is a wonder, someone could actually base a film on the same. Parthaa Akerkar and Imran Hasnee have penned such a juvenile screenplay that it’s rather unbelievable. Nothing in the drama even remotely entertains the viewers. The duo’s dialogues are terribly dull.
Imran Hasnee does an ordinary job as computer operator Ashwin. Dadhi R. Pandey is so-so in a brief role as the terrorist. Taruna Singh lends average support in the role of Ashwin’s wife, Vinita. Sudhakar Mani barely passes muster as police inspector Shankar Jha. Megha Joshi, Adnan Hasani, Amit Sinha and Navee Rautela provide routine support.
Imran Hasnee’s direction is as silly and weak as his story. Prashant Singh’s music and Shakeel Azmi’s lyrics are both, quite dull. Eugene D’Souza’s camerawork is nothing to shout about. Prakash Jha’s editing is very loose.
On the whole, High Tide is low on content. It will flop at the box-office.
