JAVED AKHTAR TO SPEAK AT PRESTIGIOUS WIPO OPENING SESSION IN GENEVA | 13 March, 2023

Javed Akhtar will speak on March 16 in Geneva at the opening of the Information Session on music, being organised by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) from March 13 to 17. This year’s Session is a part of the 43rd session of the Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights (SCCR) and is taking place in a hybrid format. The Information Session will deal with music and will focus on the streaming market. It will be attended by delegates from the 193 member-states as well as by a large number of stakeholders’ groups.

Akhtar is expected to talk about how the Indian music industry has evolved over the years and especially in the past decade.Other invitees include Björn Ulvaeus and policy makers at ministerial level, like deputy prime minister of Belgium, Dermagne.
