Nawazuddin Siddiqui has filed a defamation suit in the Bombay high court against his ex-wife, Aaliya, and his brother, Shamsuddin Siddiqui. The suit seeks Rs. 100 crore in damages for the allegedly defamatory comments made by the two, and harassment the actor faced due to misleading claims made by them.
The suit sought an injunction order to permanently restrain the two from defaming the actor, and also to withdraw existing defamatory comments. Nawaz has also accused his brother of financial fraud committed while he was managing the actor’s finances.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui had last month filed a habeas corpus petition, seeking the whereabouts of his children. He recently told the court during a hearing that he would take back the petition if he was allowed to meet his kids.
An FIR also stands registered against Aaliya following a complaint against her by Nawaz’s family over a property dispute.
