Released this week in U.P. (at Kanpur and Bareilly), Bhairav Aashish’s Yeh Mera Revenge (UA) is, as the title suggests, a revenge drama.
Aradhana, a school-going girl, lives with her widowed mother in a small town. She is sexually exploited by her neighbour and becomes pregnant with his child. How her rape is avenged forms the crux of the story.
The script is so predictable and so weak that the less spoken about it, the better. There is not even a hint of novelty in the drama.
Performances are all routine. Anupam Kher, Shakti Kapoor, Pramod Moutho, Avtar Gill, Tiku Talsania, Tinnu Verma, Ishrat Ali, Goga Kapoor and Pankaj Berry go through their roles mechanically. The heroine just about passes muster.
Iqbal Singh’s direction is very dull. The film has taken years to release, and the staleness shows in every scene. Kanakraj’s music is poor. Choreography is weak. Background music is an ear-sore. Cinematography is dull. Action and stunt scenes lack thrill. Editing is loose.
On the whole, Yeh Mera Revenge is so terrible that it will bomb at the box-office.
