The Madras high court has imposed a fine of Rs. 1 lakh on South films’ actor, Mansoor Ali Khan, and refused to grant him permission to file a defamation suit against actors Trisha Krishnan, Chiranjeevi and Khushboo Sundar. The court stated that the defamation suit looked like a publicity stunt.
The controversy arose after Khan made misogynistic comments about Trisha during a press meet for Leo. In response, Trisha and others condemned his comments on social media. The actress even went to the extent of saying that she would never work with him in the future. Post this, Mansoor apologised, expressing regret and seeking forgiveness. Later, he claimed that he was quoted out of context, which led to defamatory remarks on social media.
