A magistrate’s court in Bombay on March 15 issued a bailable warrant against Shilpa Shetty’s mother, Sunanda Shetty, for her non-appearance in a cheating case. On March 14, the Dindoshi sessions court in Bombay had stayed proceedings against Shilpa and Shamita Shetty in the same case. The court, however, said that the proceedings against their mother were to continue.
Mervin Automotive had alleged that Shilpa’s father, Surendra Shetty, had taken a hand loan of Rs. 21 lakh from owner Parhad Amra. But after Surendra SAhetty’s death, the family refused to repay the loan amount.
