CCCA REQUESTS COLLECTORS OF DISTRICTS OF VIDARBHA, KHANDESH REGIONS TO PERMIT CINEMA REOPENING | 25 July, 2021

The Central Circuit Cine Association (CCCA) has written letters to the collectors of the various districts of Vidarbha and Khandesh regions of Maharashtra to allow cinemas in the regions to reopen. The letters point out that while the government of Maharashtra and the collectors have permitted all other businesses to function either at full or restricted capacities, cinemas have not been allowed to reopen in spite of a marked decline in Coronavirus cases. The letters underline the pitiable situation of cinema owners who have suffered unbearable losses. It clearly mentions that if they aren’t granted permission to restart, they may be forced to close down their cinemas for good.

The letters assure the collectors that if cinemas are allowed to restart, they would observe the COVID-19 protocols in toto so that there is no hike in the number of infections because of cinemas.
